Qualifications

Her research has focused on allergies, including the phenotypes of food allergies to cow’s milk, the management of anaphylactic shock, the correlation between allergies and psychomotor development—in collaboration with the University of Southampton and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens—and the Predicta study on food allergies. She has published research papers at international and Greek conferences, where she has participated as a presenter, given oral presentations, and delivered lectures.
She has a particular interest in allergy prevention and the impact of the environment on the development of allergies in infants, children, and adults alike. She pays special attention to and offers consultations on allergy prevention for pregnant and breastfeeding women and their fetuses and newborns.

Biography

Dr. Olga-Antigone Papagiannopoulou, MD, MSc, was born in New York but spent her teenage years in Greece until she began her medical studies, both in Greece and abroad. In 1999, she graduated from the School of Medicine at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
In 2001, she completed her residency and worked in the Department of Pathological Anatomy at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. From 2004 to 2009, she worked and completed her residency in the Department of Pediatrics at the Hospital for Special Diseases in Thessaloniki, Greece, and in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at hospitals in England.
In 2006, she received her UCMLE/ECFMG certification from the United States. From 2009, for three years, she completed her residency in Allergy at the Allergy Unit of Aglaia Kyriakou Hospital, Second Pediatric University Clinic, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
She received her pan-European degree in allergology in Geneva, Switzerland, from the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) in 2012. In 2013, she completed her master's degree studies in allergology at the University of Southampton in England. She has received ECFMG/UCMLE certification from the United States and has been successfully granted a license to practice in Europe, the United States, and England.
Since 2013, she has been providing medical services in Thessaloniki as a pediatric allergist and adult allergist at her modern allergy medical office, located in the center of Thessaloniki.
She has an excellent command of Greek and English.
