Qualifications

Professor Theodosius Papavramidis has taken part in dozens of national and international medical conferences, either as a speaker or by presenting research papers. Some of the most significant and recent conferences in which he has taken part include the 19th Pan-Hellenic Congress of Endocrine Surgery (2026), the 7th World Congress on Thyroid Cancer (Boston, 2025), the 33rd European Congress of Endoscopic Surgery (Belgrade, 2025) and the 6th Pan-Hellenic Congress of the Professional Association of Greek Internists (Volos, 2025). At the same time, he has participated in international and Greek events, such as the 7th Annual Meeting of the European Society of Surgery (Prague), the 5th Congress of the IHPBA (Istanbul), the 5th BANTAO Congress (Thessaloniki), the 29th Symposium of the European Association of Geriatric Psychiatry, previous Pan-Hellenic Congresses on Endocrine Gland Surgery, the 2nd Pan-Hellenic Congress of the Hellenic Society of Colorectal Surgery, at the 21st and 25th Northern Greece Medical Congress, at the 19th Pan-Hellenic Congress of Gastroenterology and at the 5th Greek-Italian Congress of Angiology, Vascular Surgery and General Surgery.
Professor Theodosis Papavramidis has received numerous awards and honours for his scientific, research and clinical contributions, particularly in the field of minimally invasive surgery of the endocrine glands (Recognition and Influence Award 2019 & 2022, Award for Outstanding Clinical and Laboratory Work 2019 & 2022, Research Award from the Dean’s Office of the School of Health Sciences 2022, ‘Athanasios Psarras’ Award for Best Scientific Paper and Organising Committee Award for Best Video at the 11th Pan-Hellenic Congress of Endocrine Surgery, Award for the Best Presentation by a junior surgical trainee at the 2nd Pan-Hellenic Congress on Clinical Surgical Oncology and Cancer Prevention in Macedonia, etc.).

Biography

Dr Theodosius Papavramidis is a distinguished Professor of Surgery at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with an extensive clinical, academic and research experience. He specialises in endocrine gland surgery (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, pancreas) and minimally invasive surgery. He was born in 1976 in Alexandroupoli, Evros. In 2002, he graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and in 2009 was awarded a PhD in Surgery from the same university, with a grade of ‘Distinction’. He obtained his specialist qualification in General Surgery in 2010, and subsequently, in 2011, he undertook further specialisation in Endocrine Surgery at the University of Pisa, Italy.
Today, Dr Theodosius Papavramidis serves as a Full Professor of Surgery at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, providing clinical services at the AHEPA General Hospital of Thessaloniki, whilst also running a private medical practice (based in Thessaloniki) and acting as an external scientific consultant to major private clinics. He speaks fluent Greek, French and English, and has a very good command of Italian.
