Qualifications

Dr. Iordanis Sapardanis is an accomplished pulmonologist and tuberculosis specialist with a distinguished academic career rooted in clinical trial protocols. His writing and research have been widely presented, with papers delivered at leading Greek and international conferences, as well as publications in prestigious scientific journals of global standing. He was awarded second prize for best oral presentation at the 18th Panhellenic Conference on Thoracic Diseases (Thessaloniki, 26–29 November 2009) for his co-authored paper entitled ‘Evaluation of the efficacy and safety of inhaled carboplatin in the treatment of patients with NSCLC’ (P. Zarogoulidis, T. Kontakiotis, D. Gioulekas, L. Sichletidis, E. Eleftheriadou, I. Sapardanis and K. Zarogoulidis).
From 2000 to 2005, the doctor was an active member of Médecins du Monde. During this period, he also served as an active member of A.H.E.P.A. (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association) from 2000 to 2004, acting as General Secretary of the Thessaloniki ‘Alexander the Great’ branch between 2001 and 2003. He is also a former Board Member of the Society for the Study of Pulmonary Diseases and Occupational Chest Diseases.
